Take time to go over the interview in your mind.
How do you rate your performance? What could you have done better? How?
What was your perception of the firm and the job? How does it match your own career plan and personal values? And how does it fail to meet expectations? What is your assessment?
With hindsight, what questions should you have asked about the job that you can ask if you are invited to a second interview?
Thank your interviewer by email (or letter) and let him/her know whether or not you are interested in taking things further.
